The 777-8F Payloads organization within Boeing Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Payloads Design Engineer (Experienced and Senior) to join our teams in Everett, WA.
Cargo is a unique payloads skill that lies at the intersection of Customer Operations, Systems engineering, Project management, and Design Engineering. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that is focused on 777-8F Cargo System Development. This includes Cargo Systems requirements, hardware, software, Airborne Electronic Hardware development or integration, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through the production and certification processes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry.
Preferred Areas of experience in the following areas to support -8F Cargo System Development development:
  • Systems Engineering and Development Assurance
  • Product Development, Airplane Development, and Systems Development
  • Technical integration, supplier and/or customer engagement
  • Requirements management, validating and verifying requirements

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops, integrates and documents Cargo Handling System requirements to establish the system design
  • Reviews, lead review of Boeing and Supplier requirements using systems engineering principles and ARP4754 to show compliance with regulations
  • Performs or oversees approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Manages supplier performance, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 9+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, systems, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, interiors design criteria, and design release processes
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.)
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development

Summary pay range Experienced (Level 3 ): $117,900 - $144,100
Summary pay range Senior (Level 4): $143,100 - $174,900
