OpenEvidence is the most widely used medical AI platform in the world.

In just over a year, our usage has grown to >65% of US clinicians via product-led word of mouth adoption. We are a $12B company with a 30 person engineering team from MIT, Harvard, and Stanford. We believe world-changing products come from a small group of exceptional, autonomous builders, organized along focused objectives and empowered to take individual ownership and run fast. We are now bringing OpenEvidence to the clinicians and health workers who need it most: those working in low- and middle-income countries, in low-connectivity and resource-constrained settings, where access to high-quality medical expertise is scarcest and the stakes are highest. We believe work is something that should be engaged with at a world-class level. Building 0->1 and scaling 1->1000 are professional sports, and uncompromising excellence is the bar. We believe building things that haven't existed is only possible with end to end ownership. We don't have separate program managers or account teams; you are responsible for landing flagship deployments and demonstrating their impact. Important things are accomplished when an individual decides to accomplish them.

We believe that work should be hard. We believe good work is precise and intentional. Doing something a certain way just because that's how others have done it before guarantees mediocrity. We believe the quality of the product is paramount and the smallest details matter most, including in a rural clinic with intermittent connectivity. At the same time, velocity is essential. The best operators know how to jump right to the hardest part of the problem and build an intuitive experience for health workers. The ideal candidate is a brilliant builder with deep roots in global health. They are smart, ambitious, scrappy, autonomous, precise, motivated, hard-working, and low-ego. They have 10+ years in global health, international development, or related fields, 5+ years managing external partnerships, grantmaking, or multi-stakeholder initiatives, and they have built programs or organizations from scratch. They know the key players at the major NGOs, foundations, and ministries of health, and those people take their calls. Does that sound rare? It is rare, and we would like to find them.

The role

You will be the primary relationship owner for our flagship global health deployments, working with governments, international NGOs, foundations, and innovators strengthening care in low-resource settings. You will grow the partnerships we have, identify and onboard the ones we need, and translate partners' clinical and operational needs into deployment plans that actually work in low-connectivity, low-bandwidth, and offline environments. You will bring on-the-ground insight back to the product, clinical, and research teams and use it to make OpenEvidence best-in-class for global health, including in local languages. You will run structured programs such as accelerators and cohort-based engagements, support funder and ecosystem engagement to sustain the work, and set a research agenda for measuring OpenEvidence's impact on health outcomes in low-resource settings, partnering with external organizations to study efficacy. You will represent OpenEvidence at global health convenings, help shape how the team works as it scales, and spend roughly 25% of your time at partner sites across the Global South.

Skillsets

Specific skillsets are secondary to the builder profile above, but some important spikes for different facets of this work are:

Global health relationships

• You have deep credibility in the global health ecosystem. You have worked directly with organizations in low- and middle-income countries and have a nuanced understanding of what deployment actually looks like in low-connectivity, low-resource environments.

• You may have language skills relevant to Sub-Saharan Africa, or Latin America, or a background in clinical or public health settings.

Technical fluency

• You can engage credibly on AI concepts, understand what LLMs can and cannot do, and partner effectively with engineers and scientists. You might come from a healthtech company, an AI organization, or a product-adjacent role.

Programs and funders

• You have built and run structured programs from scratch, likely at a startup or in a founding role, and you have worked with philanthropic foundations on global health initiatives.

• You are comfortable managing a high volume of partnerships and opportunities and ruthless about prioritizing among them.

Impact and evidence

• You have an analytical mindset and use data to inform strategy and measure impact. Evaluation and quantitative proof are tools you constantly seek to deploy.

• You are familiar with global health research and evidence-based interventions, and you want to prove, not assert, that OpenEvidence improves outcomes.

We work in-person in Miami and SF, and this role travels extensively (~25%) to partner sites across the Global South. We believe in creating an environment that optimizes for focus and productivity, including providing meals, transport, and anything else you need to move quickly.
