Note: Relocation assistance is not provided.
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part Time Student - Battery Test Engineer for John Deere Power Systems located in Morrisville, NC, you will:

  • Define and coordinate test procedures and analysis plans for lithium-ion battery product verification and validation
  • Prepare product test reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Participate in battery development projects to drive technology advancements
  • Coordinate testing with battery testing equipment such as cyclers, thermal chambers, sensors, and data acquisition units


This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other related discipline with experience
  • Enrolled in at least sophomore year of studies by the time of the employment
  • Minimum required cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. (3.4 or higher preferred)
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and fast learning skills
  • Available to work 10+ hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 40 hours/week over the summer
  • Must be able to work at the John Deere Morrisville Engineering Lab

  • Passionate about vehicle electrification & battery technology skills
  • Involvement with a school club, project, or research working on batteries, electric vehicles, etc.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar programing language
  • Demonstrated communication and project leadership
  • Self-starter that is well organized, disciplined , team player and well versed in electric vehicle systems, statistics and data management
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing tools
