- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of paraplanners.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to foster individual growth and team cohesion.
- Run regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and set goals.
- Workload Management:
- Oversee and manage the daily workflow and task allocation for the paraplanning team.
- Prioritize work queues to meet deadlines and ensure efficient completion of tasks.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Conduct first-line checks on the quality of paraplanner reports and output.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations.
- Monitor error rates and implement training to promote a "right first time" approach.
- Technical Support & Expertise:
- Act as a referral point for technical queries, supporting the team with complex cases.
- Potentially contribute to paraplanning by assisting with research, product analysis, and report preparation for client recommendations.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to refine procedures, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Implement improvements to streamline operations and enhance client service delivery.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.
- Serve as a key liaison between the paraplanning team, Financial Advisers, and other management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 4 qualified in financial planning
- Previous experience as a paraplanner or in a similar support role within a financial services firm.
- Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, products, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA).
- Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyse technical information and ensure attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset.
