ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril designs and builds aircraft, aircraft systems, and aerospace structures for the Defense, Space, and other aerospace-related industries. We are seeking a Painters Helper who will perform surface preparation for, and application of, a variety military and aerospace paint systems, protective coatings and gel coats on a variety of foam tools and composite aerospace parts
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Strips, sands, fills, cleans, masks, primes and paints composite parts and related items as directed.
- Assists other shop personnel with other tasks such as block bonding, bodywork and cleaning.
- Ensures proper use, storage, handling and disposal of all hazardous materials used or generated during the course of duties.
- Assists shop personnel in monitoring of inventory level of all paint related materials.
- Maintains detailed records of all work performed and all materials used.
- Works in a potentially hazardous environment using protective clothing, personal safety equipment and respirators.
- Maintains all paint spraying, paint mixing, and related equipment is a clean and working condition.
- Learns, knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance and performance re required.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- 2 years of journey level experience in automotive/aerospace painting including a combination of schooling and full-time employment in the automotive painting field.
- Occasionally lift up to 75lbs with assistance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce high quality finishes. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and conditions around fumes, odors, dust and occasionally high noise levels.
- Working knowledge of standard methods and use restrictions of common paints and related equipment. Previous experience with MIL-Spec paints, powder coating and gel coating would be a plus.
- Understand common industry practices and techniques of surface prep for paint application on metal, foam and composites.
- Understand common industry practices and techniques for preparing, mixing, blending and applying paints and other protective coating to metal, foam and composites.
- Ability to prep, layout and paint according to supplied diagrams and work orders.
- Operate hand and power tools common to the automotive/aerospace paint industry.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all persons encountered during the course of work.
- Understand and effectively follow written and oral instructions.
- Work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Read, interpret and apply complex technical instructions.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
