Under the direction of the Lead Painter, Project Lead or Production Manager, performs surface preparation for, and application of a variety military and aerospace paint systems, protective coatings and gel coats on a variety of foam tools and composite aerospace parts.


Responsibilities:

Strips, sands, fills, cleans, masks, primes and paints composite parts and related items as directed.

Assists other shop personnel with other tasks such as block bonding, bodywork and cleaning.

Ensures proper use, storage, handling and disposal of all hazardous materials used or generated during the course of duties.

Assists shop personnel in monitoring of inventory level of all paint related materials.

Maintains detailed records of all work performed and all materials used.

Works in a potentially hazardous environment using protective clothing, personal safety equipment and respirators.

Maintains all paint spraying, paint mixing, and related equipment is a clean and working condition.

Learns, know and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to the job.

Prep, layout and paint according to supplied diagrams and work orders.

Operate hand and power tools common to the automotive/aerospace paint industry.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all persons encountered during the course of work.

Understand and effectively follow written and oral instructions.

Work independently and with minimal supervision.

Read, interpret and apply complex technical instructions.

Regular and reliable attendance and performance are required. 


Minimum Qualification:

-2 years of journey level experience in automotive/aerospace painting including a combination of schooling and full-time employment in the automotive painting field.


Required: 

Working knowledge of the following: 

-Standard methods and use restrictions of common paints and related equipment.

-Environmental health and safety principles and practices pertaining to the automotive/aerospace paint industry.

-Common industry practices and techniques of surface prep for paint application on metal, foam and composites.

-Common industry practices and techniques for preparing, mixing, blending and applying paints and other protective coating to metal, foam and composites.

 

US Salary Range

$1$1 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
