Provides a consistently high level of service to others by assisting with requests, or locating appropriate resources for the request.

Shelves books and other materials.

Pulls books to edge of shelf.

Straightens shelves.

Shelves magazines and newspapers.

Reads shelves.
-
Shifts books as necessary.

Straightens library furniture and material.
-
May work at different locations throughout the CCPL system, as needed.

Qualifications- Must be at least 14 years old and eligible for a work permit.
- Have reliable transportation to attend assigned shifts.
Work requires routine physical effort in the handling of moderately heavy materials of up to 40 pounds. Work requires standing for long periods of time and some stooping and bending. Work requires the ability to perform effectively in a busy public service environment with frequent public interaction and varying noise levels.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, libraries, classrooms or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment and observance of fire and building safety regulations.

Charles County Public Library provides free educational and entertainment resources and services to the community, offering in-person and online events and programs. Its mission is to create opportunities for the community to engage, discover, and learn, including providing free books through The Imagination Library of Charles County to children under five.
