Job Description
Opportunity:
YuMe Toys has an immediate requirement for a full-time Packaging Designer to join our London office.
You will be required to create fun, innovative artwork, packaging, and presentations, to support our retail licensed and seasonal products, as well as licensed entertainment-based promotions and promotional merchandise for our Fortune clients in the QSR, CPG, FMCG, and other sectors. It is essential that the designer takes a keen interest in the brand arena described above and brings an acute awareness of new trends in graphics, promotions, packaging, point-of-sale, and entertainment-based customer engagement. Must be able to work quickly and create clean, modern graphic design works as well as participate in creative brainstorms, sharing new ideas and concepts for projects. Experience with toys or consumer products is a plus, and experience with branding is crucial.
The Packaging Designer will report to the Senior Graphic Designer and Creative Director. Will need to work both independently and in a team environment with the account, brand, and creative teams, both local and international, to develop a wide range of designs from concept to final client presentation. Prior agency/brand experience is required. Additional experience with licensed consumer products, toys, packaging, and POP/POS design is a plus, as is copywriting, illustration, and commercial understanding of clients. Needs to have strong interest in entertainment/gaming-based properties as well as anime and have a finger on the pulse of new upcoming trends.
Qualifications
- Degree in graphic design, visual arts or related disciplines.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Knowledge of the printing process and colours (pantone/ CMYK/ RGB).
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, and graphic design.
- Ability to handle several projects at once.
- Enthusiastic with lots of ideas to contribute and a dedication to quality work.
- Proficient in PowerPoint with experience in creating decks.
- Toy, retail, brand loyalty, and shopper marketing experience a big plus.
