Summary/Objective

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients to drive sales growth. This role leverages a strong understanding of the core customer base and product offerings while ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the order and delivery process.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with vendors and an assigned customer portfolio, collaborating with branch associates to ensure customer satisfaction with our products and services from order to delivery and beyond.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to engage with both new and existing clients, managing sales performance within an established customer base while actively seeking to expand it.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by collaborating with management to develop effective sales strategies and target new accounts.
  • Perform various duties, including providing product quotations, problem resolution, and executing order fulfillment based on customer needs.
  • Analyze competitive landscape within the territory, formulate sales strategies, and communicate these strategies to management for alignment.
  • Continuously enhance sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional image in the field.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to efficiently resolve service-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities, including calls, orders, and any customer or vendor relationship issues.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts for assigned territory (TX, NM, OK, AR, LA )and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a relevant industry is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the water and/or wastewater sectors is a plus.
  • A successful candidate will be results-driven, self-motivated, and capable of completing tasks efficiently while fostering relationships in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and active listening are required.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to multi-task and adapt quickly to new information.

Compensation

The compensation package includes a base salary of $60,000 per year, plus commission that can yield a total compensation ranging from $125,000.00+ annually.  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR
  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a relevant industry is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to TX, NM, AR, OK and LA
  • A plus if living in Houston, TX
