As our OSR, you'll own a territory, develop new accounts, deepen existing customer relationships, and work alongside our engineering and technical teams to deliver the kind of customized, full-service solutions that keep customers coming back.

What You'll Do

Grow Your Territory

  • Achieve sales targets by retaining existing customers and actively developing new business across industrial applications throughout your territory.
  • Research local markets to identify emerging opportunities, new target accounts, and competitor activity staying ahead of the curve.
  • Build genuine rapport with customers, developing a deep understanding of their operations and core business profit drivers.

Sell Solutions

  • Provide strategic recommendations, customized pricing, and tailored solutions across Piedmont's full service offering electric motors, crane & hoist, custom fabrication, machining, and material handling.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling quotes and proposals; negotiate terms and close transactions on both standard service and complex project work.
  • Initiate and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and presentations to follow-up and close.
  • Work with OEMs, engineers, and technical staff to clarify customer requirements and develop specs for custom applications.

Own Customer Success

  • Oversee delivery, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems making sure the job is done right and the customer is satisfied.
  • Maintain strong, long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Record all account, contract, and sales activity in CRM daily keeping your pipeline accurate and actionable.
QualificationsWhat We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • 3–5 years of outside sales experience proven track record of hitting targets and growing a territory.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude you understand industrial equipment and can have a credible technical conversation with engineers, plant managers, and maintenance teams.
  • Working knowledge of assembly, fabrication, power units, lubrication systems, and/or electrical controls.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills comfortable selling to everyone from a plant floor supervisor to a VP of Operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Excel; comfortable with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics or similar).
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel regularly throughout the territory.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in industrial sales motors, cranes, fabrication, machining, or material handling.
  • Ability to read building blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
  • Established customer relationships in North Carolina manufacturing or industrial markets.
