About the Role

Are you a relationship builder who enjoys meeting new people, developing business, and finding solutions that meet customer needs? Midwestern Wheels Inc. is looking for an Outside Sales Consultant to develop, manage, and expand commercial business relationships while supporting the growth of our Long-Term Rental program.

This is a dynamic, relationship-focused position where no two days are exactly alike. You’ll work directly with commercial customers, identify new business opportunities, manage existing accounts, and partner with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience. 


What You’ll Do

Build and Grow Business

  • Identify and pursue new commercial business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, networking, industry research, and other business development activities
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective commercial customers
  • Consistently follow up with prospects to convert opportunities into long-term business relationships
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and increase Long-Term Rental business

Manage the Long-Term Rental Program

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Long-Term Rental program
  • Develop contracts, pricing, renewals, and customer solutions
  • Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for growth and process improvement
  • Partner with internal departments and field locations to ensure the program operates effectively
  • Provide responsive, professional service throughout the customer relationship

Build Strong Customer Relationships

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients
  • Develop trusted, professional relationships with customers and understand their business needs
  • Provide customized rental solutions and recommendations
  • Respond to customer questions, resolve concerns, and ensure a positive customer experience
  • Maintain regular communication with key accounts to strengthen long-term partnerships

Support Sales & Marketing

  • Partner with field locations to promote the Long-Term Rental program and other commercial offerings
  • Help develop sales materials, presentations, and promotional campaigns
  • Generate leads for used vehicle sales opportunities
  • Participate in networking events, customer meetings, and other business development activities

Track Results & Drive Performance

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, opportunities, and follow-up
  • Track Long-Term Rental program performance and lead generation
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activity and program results
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities to improve sales performance and customer satisfaction
  • Use data and customer feedback to recommend strategies for continued growth

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a motivated, results-driven professional who combines sales expertise, business development, operational awareness, and strong relationship-building skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional sales experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • 1+ year of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience, with experience developing and maintaining commercial client relationships
  • 1+ year of management or supervisory experience, including team oversight, performance coaching, and operational coordination
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with customers, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with internal teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and develop long-term customer relationships while effectively managing expectations
  • Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, develop sales opportunities, negotiate, close business, and maintain a sales pipeline
  •  Strong networking skills, including participation in industry events and community engagement to generate new business opportunities.  
  • Strong operational and organization skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and ensure program efficiency.  
  • Ability to develop and manage sales funnels, track progress, and analyze data to optimize performance.  
  • Strong problem-solving with the ability to identify client needs, recommend solutions, and resolve issues effectively.  
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a field-based role while maintaining accountability and meeting deadlines. 
  • Professional presence and the ability to represent the company with integrity, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset

  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurance carrier requirements

This role offers a $55,000 annual salary, eligibility for annual performance bonuses of up to $10,000, and recurring monthly commission earnings. Based on current program performance, total first year compensation is anticipated to range from approximately $60,000 to $90,000, including salary, bonus opportunities, and commissions. 

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of professional sales experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • 1+ year of business-to-business sales experience developing and maintaining commercial client relationships
  • 1+ year of management or supervisory experience, including team oversight, performance coaching, and operational coordination
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including customer communication, contract negotiation, and internal collaboration
  • Ability to build trust and develop long-term customer relationships while managing expectations
  • Experience prospecting, generating leads, developing sales opportunities, negotiating, closing business, and maintaining a sales pipeline
  • Strong networking skills, including industry events and community engagement
  • Strong operational and organizational skills, including managing priorities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring program efficiency
  • Ability to develop and manage sales funnels, track progress, and analyze data to optimize performance
