Description

Ready to Practice Therapy Differently?

If you are tired of sterile clinics where you feel undervalued, it’s time for a change. Imagine stepping into a well-appointed, professional office space where your personal growth is prioritized, your contributions are celebrated, and you have access to cutting-edge tools to ensure your own wellness.

At Alternative Wellness Services (AWS), we believe in breaking the status quo. On some days, you will be in your office, others you can move your work out of the office to do walk-and-talks, meet clients in the community, or collaborate on team meetings. We are seeking a dynamic BHH Outpatient Clinician who thrives on providing assessments and short-term therapy for clients with chronic mental illness and co-occurring conditions, while collaborating seamlessly with a team to address complex client needs.

Welcome to Your Clinical Home

We are not just an agency; we are a forward-thinking community. Whether you are a recent graduate looking for a highly supportive launchpad or a seasoned clinician seeking a refreshing, balanced environment, you belong here.

You will not sit in an office staring at four walls. You will be an interactive team member providing vital therapy to clients with chronic mental illness and co-occurring conditions. You will connect daily with our certified peer support specialists, clinical lead, RN, care coordinators, community providers, and clients. Sometimes, what seems like a small step to us is overwhelming for our clients. You will provide short-term interventions and solution-focused support to individuals who cannot engage in traditional, hour-long, weekly office-based sessions.

Our Core Values

As an Outpatient Therapist at AWS, you'll be a catalyst for change. We meet clients exactly where they are, driven by our core values:

  • Client-Centered: Putting the unique needs of our community first.
  • Growth: Fostering development for both our clients and our clinicians.
  • Responsibility: Showing up with integrity and dedication.
  • Collaborative: Believing that we are stronger and more effective as a team.
Why Choose AWS? Because We Invest in Your Future.

We know that to take care of your clients, you need to be taken care of first. We empower our clinicians with:

  • True Work-Life Balance: Maintain a manageable caseload that provides flexibility for service delivery.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Work a traditional 5-day week or choose a compressed schedule (e.g., four 10-hour days).
  • A Connected, Supportive Culture: Say goodbye to isolation. Experience genuine collaboration through weekly group and individual supervision (perfect for conditionally licensed grads!), monthly open-door meetings, and fun agency outings.
  • Epic Recognition: We love to recognize your work with our Paylocity recognition system. We love a little competition and fun team events. Picture yourself as our next Employee of the Year, rewarded with an extra week of PTO and an all-expenses-paid vacation to Florida!
  • Exclusive Wellness Perks: Access cutting-edge technology for yourself at our sister wellness center at a reduced rate to promote your own well-being. Amenities include a medical-grade red light bed, sauna, cold plunge, and Alpha-Stim for anxiety.
Comprehensive Benefits (Full-Time):
  • 3 Health Plan options to choose from and one FREE Employee Health Insurance Option
  • Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Generous Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Company-Paid Short-Term/Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Dedicated paid professional development and comprehensive supervision
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Accident/Injury Insurance
  • Mileage Reimbursement
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Yourself to the office! This is an on-site/community-based position interacting with clients or your team!
  • Licensure: You must hold an active Maine license as an LMSW-CC, LCSW, LCPC, or LCPC-Conditional. (New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!)
  • Your Approach: A high level of professionalism, an interest in holistic care, and a deep commitment to treating individuals across all ages (children, adults, and seniors) and diverse socio-economic backgrounds with behavioral health and substance use needs.
Ready to redefine what it means to be a therapist?

Finding a role that offers true clinical freedom while keeping you deeply rooted in the community shouldn't be impossible. At AWS, you won't just fill a schedule—you'll build a sustainable practice that honors your well-being and delivers vital, flexible care to those who need it most.
