SMX is seeking a Solution Architect to lead Federal Financial Management solution initiatives and support sales teams in growing the Federal market. This role emphasizes cultivating strong client relationships, understanding agency needs, and driving financial management (FM) solutions. The Solution Architect will frequently lead a specialized team and collaborate closely with Business Development to meet sales and delivery objectives. Qualified candidates should have experience in selling and implementing ERP COTS solutions—whether on-premises or cloud-based—for federal agencies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of federal accounting and budgeting processes and play a key role in advancing FM solutions and business growth. This is a hybrid role supporting DC based customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role involve working effectively within a team environment and leveraging the expertise of colleagues across the organization. You will support SMX's Treasury Financial Management (FM) marketplace solution and collaborate with growth teams throughout the business development lifecycle. A strong commitment to advancing company initiatives is essential.
Additional responsibilities include managing and enhancing our existing Treasury FM marketplace solutions, supporting growth and business development efforts by positioning and demonstrating FM solutions to federal clients. You will also work closely with internal development teams to improve FM offerings by incorporating feedback from federal customers. This role supports capture activities and coordinates with business development, program management, solution architecture, and growth teams to develop compelling proposals.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience in the Federal Enterprise Solution Marketplace
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) of supporting federal financial and budget solutions.
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) implementing and supporting Oracle On-prem and/or cloud ERP solutions for the Federal mission in target accounts/markets
- Working knowledge of missions, cultures, organizational components, leadership, major programs, challenges, and buying trends
- Strong understanding of federal budgetary accounting and processes, including familiarity with OMB guidelines and experience supporting and implementing Treasury reporting requirements such as the DATA Act and GTAS.
- Proven experience delivering solution demonstrations to federal agencies.
- Experience interacting with and briefing senior government and industry acquisition officials
- Understanding the full business development lifecycle and has been successful in various customer domains within the federal markets
- Proactive, organized, and highly skilled professional
- Experience with contributing to proposals and the RFI, RFQ, or RFP process
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Market places
- Strong communication and presentation skills, while maintaining a positive attitude, strong drive for results
- Collaborative and proactive work across SMX to achieve broader company growth objectives while maintaining connectivity to the program/contract executing managers
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a federal security clearance
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
Desired Skills & Experience
- Additional knowledge and experience with adjacent capabilities in the areas of Enterprise IT; Cyber Operations, ITSM and Managed Services; Data Center, Cloud and Cloud Migration; Data Transport and Systems Integration; Application Development and Modernization; Big Data and Data Analytics is a plus
