About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Database Administrator to own the reliability, performance, security of our IBM Db2, MySQL, and PostgreSQL supported clients environments. You’ll design and run HA/DR, optimize workloads, automate routine operations, and partner closely with application and security teams. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys performance tuning, resilience engineering and clean automation.
Daily challenges
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Db2/MySQL/PostgreSQL across dev/test/prod.
- Analyze execution plans and tune queries, indexes, and configuration parameters.
- Integrate schema migrations, maintain clean runbooks and architecture docs.
- Participate in on-call (reasonable rotation), lead database incident response and RCAs.
- Implement and support HA/DR
- Enforce least-privilege access with roles/policies; manage TLS in transit and encryption at rest
- Drive continuous improvement, preventive controls, and standards.
eXperience and skills required
- 5+ years administering at least two of: IBM Db2 (LUW), MySQL
- Proven experience with HA/DR
- Experience with Cloud-managed databases
- Strong SQL and query plan analysis; confident with indexing strategies and stats management.
- Relevant certifications (IBM DB2 Admin, MySQL OCP, EDB Postgres)
