As a Production Technician, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives! You will work safely within a chemical manufacturing environment.
This is an entry-level manufacturing position where basic math skills and mechanical aptitude are used to operate chemical processes to produce PPG’s Coatings products. You will handle raw materials packaged in bags, drums, totes, etc. and forklift operation, in a safe and controlled manor.
Shift: 3 Shifts Rotating every 2 weeks (Midnight – Afternoon – Daylight)
1st Shift 7:00am - 3:00pm
2nd Shift 3:00pm – 11:00pm
3rd Shift 11:00pm – 7:00am
Yearly Salary: $48,880.00

Key Responsibilities
To develop mechanical and technical experience needed to manufacture different coatings using available equipment under the guidance of the Trainer, Senior Operator, and Team Leader.
Work safely in a manufacturing environment, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and understand inherent risks associated with the chemical processes.
Become familiar with equipment, procedures, and products produced in the Springdale R&D Development Center, develop safety awareness and to begin gaining experience in safe work procedures in effect
Perform tasks according to instructions given by trainer.
These responsibilities include reading and comprehending work instructions, preparing the process equipment, weighing and adding raw materials, monitoring process equipment during production, performing in-process testing, and complete finished good packaging.
Record production observations, data points, and process conditions.
Based on demonstrated understanding and performance on the process equipment, the Production Technician progresses with additional responsibility decreasing guidance.
Responsibilities performed are independently carried out, usually on the initiative of the you and receive cursory management.
Perform other tasks according to interactions listed in process instructions, given by Team Leader.
Qualifications
English language comprehension.
Ability to Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs, Ability to Push/Pull 51 +lbs.
Prefer experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
