Telecommunications Connectivity Quality Technician (Omaha)
As the Telecommunications Connectivity Quality Technician you will monitor the connectivity status and health of our telemetry devices and interact with our customer service, software/server engineers, and data carriers to ensure our telemetry devices are operating as designed. Also, as the Telecommunications Connectivity Quality Technician assist the customer service team and our dealer/customer network whenever connectivity issues arise. The incumbent will monitor a connectivity health information website, will answer chats/messages/emails from customer service representatives and dealers/customers, and will act upon any connectivity outages by contacting the software/server team and/or the data connection carriers to place trouble tickets as needed. This position may also include assisting in testing of telemetry devices to ensure proper operation, activation/deactivation of cellular data lines, and possible auditing of unused data lines for deactivation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Use multiple data carriers line management portals to enter troubleshooting tickets
- Use multiple data carriers line management portals to activate/deactivate lines
- Monitor connectivity quality using multiple information websites and data carrier portals
- Assist in auditing active/inactive lines using data usage and other metrics
- Assist firmware development team with defining communication requirements
- Assist firmware development team with testing firmware changes
- Associates Degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, or Communications or similar related work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical/electronics/communications technical support
- Software experience with various programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, etc.
- Willingness to learn details of cellular communications modules/systems
