Job Purpose:
The candidate will be working within Caterpillar's global IT organization translating business strategy into solutions for the supply chain planning area within the SAP team. The supply chain planning area supports demand planning (IBP), MRP and detailed scheduling through the use of APO. Primary work tasks will include solution governance, design (requirements definition, functional Specs, and test scenarios), deployments and occasional level 4 support.
Description:
This position is primarily responsible for:
- Providing direction for requirement blueprint sessions, design and feedback to the customers
- Identifying and training facilities to utilize template solutions
- Performing validation and sign-off of 3rd Party deliverables (i.e. testing, documentation)
- Collaborating with project leads, system architects and partners to identify and implement best practices
- Documenting functional / technical specifications for solution development
- Documenting master data requirements for solution development, testing, and execution
- Documenting test scenarios for solution validation (i.e. unit, string, integration, and UAT)
- Ensuring change requests are appropriate and consistent with application roadmaps
Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in IT or other technology related degree.
• 5-7 years of IT experience, along with 6-10 years of ERP related experience (can be concurrent).
• 3-4 years of experience with SAP MM, SCM and PP modules.
• Working knowledge of EDI/IDOC standards.

Top Candidate Will Also Have:

• Experience with SAP Supply Chain/APO master data and configuration
• Experience with SAP Engineering Change Management (BOMs, routings and material masters)
• Strong customer focus and ability to influence
• Ability to quickly understand technology changes and drive advancement within the organization
• Ability to understand both technology and business domains

• Travel: 20%
