Job Description:
Position Summary
Bank of America is seeking a Senior Technology Manager with the Wealth Client Data Integration Services team, with proven expertise managing development teams and delivering on complex initiatives. The Integration Services team provides integration capabilities and complex business processes supporting core capabilities of the Wealth Management environment (e.g., digital logon, client onboarding etc.). The ecosystem consists of multiple integration technologies (Mule, Java, Tibco, .Net) and t his role is critical in defining and delivering the modernized future state for the integration/orchestration ecosystem.
A Senior Technology Manager is an experienced manager, who is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Their primary responsibility is to the people they manage, ensuring they are developing as engineers through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development. Other key responsibilities may include developing a technology strategy and ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards. This role advocates and advances modern, Agile software development practices and evangelizes great design, engineering, and organizational practices. This role will have people management responsibilities for associate and contractors.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for team/program level resource and financial management; builds and maintains teams through talent acquisition.
  • Sets maturity objectives and enables individuals/teams to with training & resources to achieve them.
  • Sets and tracks quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of individuals through performance reviews, coaching, and building individual development plans that are needed to develop competencies and skills.
  • Understands individual and team maturity and performance through team/client feedback.
  • Manages relationships with the business and technology leaders, and vendors for technical products.
  • Accountable for solution delivery management as relevant to their teams (e.g., prioritizing tech debt, compliance, and security items, and supporting audits).
  • Accountable to ensure all relevant risk, financial, and compliance polices, and standards are met.
  • Accountable for the application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews).
  • Creates and maintains the technology strategy for their technical domain.
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years industry experience within integration/orchestration technology domain with various technologies (e.g., Java, Mule, .Net, Tibco etc.
  • 2+ years application management in a complex. matrixed environment
  • Thorough understanding of Agile development practices and ability to make recommended enhancements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions that provide excel in performance when implemented
  • Understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, refactoring, debugging, and configuration management
  • Ability to create pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives which deliver short-term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction
  • Effectively Influence, Negotiate and Lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations across the Technology and Line of Business organizations
  • Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management. Be able to articulate the value proposition associated with the solution set
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation and detail-oriented perspective
  • A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Ability to work with peers in a team effort
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal and diagramming skills
