Security Cooperation Strategic Communicator
Key Role:

Utilize the complete range of current communications tools to develop, execute, and assess an effective strategic communications program. Research, assess, write, coordinate, maintain, revise, and distribute high quality and timely communications materials for strategic communication opportunities, events, and fora. Gather, analyze and evaluate US, DoD, and DAF strategic guidance and messaging themes and international partner communications to develop focused DAF messaging. Revise strategic communications materials and messaging themes to ensure they are tailored to current and relevant international affairs issues. Coordinate international affairs messaging across the DAF strategic communicators, speechwriters, and key staff in support of DAF.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Enterprise-level Strategic Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Public Diplomacy, or Senior Executive-level Speech Writing
  • E xperience working directly with and for senior military and DoD civilian clients, including briefing and writing for Senior Executive Service members, General, and Flag Officers
  • Knowledge of DAF roles and missions, including security cooperation, international affairs, security assistance, and foreign military sales
  • Ability to deliver consistent, timely, and high-quality communications products to the client
  • Ability to coordinate senior member participation in all strategic communication events and fora, including coordination with event or venue point of contact or protocol personnel
  • Ability to prepare, coach, and assess senior leaders for speaking engagements ranging from one-on-one press interviews to in-person, recorded, or streamed speeches to large audiences
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current international affairs, issues, and relationships with regards to US national security policy and interests
  • Ability to provide professional, candid, and constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to support the effective employment of social media and other cutting-edge strategic communications channels in support of an overall strategic communications program
  • Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communications preferred
