About the role:
Reporting into the Head of Commercial Real Estate and Workplace, this critical role will ensure office services and experiences are standardized, memorable, and impactful across Opendoor’s vast and growing portfolio of offices across the U.S.
We're open to this individual being based in the San Fransisco Bay area CA, Los Angeles CA metro or Phoenix AZ metro
We're looking for a teammate who:
- Has 7+ years of Workplace and / or Facilities + Office Management experience
- Has the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Possesses project management experience ranging from furniture restacks to small office builds
- Is passionate communicator and creative thinker
- Has experience managing multiple direct reports, local and remote
- Are chaos embracers
Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Head of Commercial Real Estate and Workplace and assist as needed; boundaries between CRE and Workplace are flexible.
- Oversee Opendoor’s vast and growing portfolio of offices: 20 by end of 2018; 50 by end of 2019.
- Manage team of all-star Workplace Managers in our HQ (SF) and Regional offices (PHX, DFW, ATL) as well as their supporting staff.
- Assist Commercial Real Estate team with construction / remodel projects, office moves and expansions, etc.
- Ensure facilities maintenance and repairs are handled appropriately: coordinating with property managers, landlords, and vendors, referencing leases as needed
- Assist in planning and execution of various company social events, offsites and all-hands meetings, with the goal of increasing employee engagement.
- Identify and manage vendor relationships with focus on national partnerships.
- Ensure all offices are compliant with regulatory workplace standards & requirements.
- Drive efforts around emergency preparedness (experience with DR & BCP a bonus).
- Collaborate with the broader team to plan and implement workplace environment changes that support Opendoor’s culture and ensure a memorable workplace experience.
Requirements:
- Responsible for managing and addressing facility breakdowns that can occur after work hours, weekends and holidays
- Proven experience creating and operating within budget guidelines
- Highly adaptable; comfortable with change and ambiguity; capable of quickly rallying teams and resources around key issues
- Strong spatial skills with experience in the implementation of workplace strategies and the ability to translate business unit requirements into space strategy
- Strong aptitude as it relates to construction schedules, facilities operations, technology, furniture, fixtures and equipment in the workplace
