Work Model: Hybrid- Requirement for 2+ days per week onsite at our Madison, WI location.

OVERVIEW:

Operational Risk Management is a function that has risk oversight for key non-financial risks including Operational Resiliency / Business Continuity Management, New Product / Initiative Development, Vendor Management, ESG/Climate Change Risk Management, Legal Risk, Model Risk Management, Process Risk Management and Project Risk Management.

Business Continuity Coordinator

  • Collaborate with IT and line-of-business managers to develop a Business Continuity Management Program and Plan which aligns with the IT Disaster Recovery Plan. Develop, maintain and test the Company's business continuity management program per FFIEC guidelines.
    • Communicate with entity heads and team lead on critical areas that need a business continuity plan (BCP). Develop and oversee the company's BCP for all locations.
    • Conduct a business impact analysis (BIA) on all critical functions with entity heads and business units. Communicate the BIA to IT for disaster recovery initiatives.
    • Maintain, document, communicate and test the plans for all locations


Internal Audit and Regulatory Coordinator

  • Manage all internal and external audits, regulatory examinations and external loan reviews including, but not limited to, set up of third party(s), coordination and delivery of all initial and subsequent request list items, managing exceptions, report distribution, reconciliation of initial scope with actual loans and activities reviewed/audited, and recommendation tracking. Ensure recommendations are successfully remediated.


Multi-State Strategy and Program Management

  • Partner with cross-functional First Business Bank and First Business Specialty Finance LLC's teams to determine multi-state strategy and plan. Responsibilities include project management of the overall project to ensure timely execution of the plan, managing business registration and licensing requirements, managing state specific regulatory and compliance, and operating risks. Implement controls to manage multi-state strategy.


Vendor Management

  • Build out Vendor Management oversight for all non-IT vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and effective risk management of contracts, renewals, and due diligence. Coordinate insurance applications process and serve as resource for ongoing insurance related activities.


Risk Advisor for New Regulatory Requirements, Product and Business Line Initiatives and Project Management

  • Collaborate with various teams on new product and business line initiatives. This includes proactive risk identification, making recommendations to mitigate risks and solve problems, and leading / managing all aspects of risk management to ensure sound controls.
  • Develop and coordinate risk models and risk assessments involving regulatory compliance, credit and operational risks and ensure controls are operating effectively. This includes, but is not limited to, model risk management, climate risk, vendor management, and legal risks. Provide research and analytical support as necessary.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 7-10 years of relevant financial institution risk management, insurance, internal or external audit, or compliance.
  • Knowledge of risk management in areas of business resiliency, compliance, internal controls, and SOX 404 requirements
  • Knowledge of SEC and bank regulations.
  • Project management experience
