Job Description
- Programing and maintaining XTS 5000 and APX 8000 handheld radios.
Programing and maintaining XTL 5000 and APX 8500 mobile radios.
Be the liaison between Motorola Solutions and customer.
Assist customer with inventories and searches for missing equipment.
Travel in Washington and Oregon to maintain and resolve any and all portable and mobile radio issues.
Maintain a strong working relationship with the separate entities involved in maintaining the radio communications network.
Must be able to work alone, keep records, participate in scheduled and unscheduled team meetings, and adhere to customer’s schedule.
Create, maintain and improve excellent customer relationships onsite and around the country.
Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper radio operation
Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Must have 2 years minimum experience in radio communications
2 year associate degree in electronics or IT preferred, or equivalent on-the-job experience
Security +, CompTIA or related certificate is highly desirable
Proficient with Motorola Subscriber programming software
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
Must have a current, valid driver’s license and no traffic violations
Personal Traits:
Strong self-management skills and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams
Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
Ability to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and must also have high sense of urgency, strong work ethic and is results oriented
**Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer**
Basic Requirements
Associate’s Degree/Technical Certificate + 2 years OR 4+ years in electronics, field technician/specialist, P25, LMR, RF, Networking or IT experience.
