The National Technology Director is responsible for overseeing either the application development, infrastructure, project management office, or desktop services divisions within the IT Department. This role will provide overall leadership in IT strategy, operations, cost optimization, innovation, and efficiency improvement.

Job Duty
Managerial
Responsible for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of IT systems and operations to ensure a high level of end user satisfaction
Ensure that IT operations are in accordance with established procedures and practices
Work with IT team to manage the overall day-to-day operations to improve costs, performance, and end user satisfaction
Monitor the performance of infrastructure and systems. Identify future requirements for infrastructure hardware and software, negotiate purchases, and coordinate equipment installation and delivery schedules
Ensure proper documentation of IT procedures and processes
Manage the design, development and maintenance of a comprehensive IT related business continuity plan
Keep abreast of new hardware and software developments; demonstrate the ability to use new or enhanced technology products and services to support the business objectives
Work with organization to define and develop technology solutions. Manage the solution process utilizing strong project planning skills
Manage with a strong sense of urgency and be able to plan and deliver high quality business solutions while developing and maintaining a friendly, educational, supportive environment with a focus on the end user's needs
Provide an efficient and effective means of documenting and controlling end user requests for projects
Negotiate vendor contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure results
Develop and implement department policies/procedures, generate requested/required reports for customers as well as management and train department personnel
Responsible for hiring staff, conducting performance reviews, as well as coaching and developing staff
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
- Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job.
- Travel up to 10-20%
Minimum Qualifications
The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred) Choose an item. or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: Computer Science, Engineering or related education or equivalent job-related experience
- 5+ years of experience in I.S. experience
- 2+ years in a management capacity
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

- Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
- Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
