Boeing Defense Space and Security is looking for an Mid-Level Lab System Administrator to work out of our Seal Beach, CA location.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • System Administration Knowledge of Linux platforms


This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • System Administration Knowledge of Linux platforms


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly skills like crimping, stripping, cable routing, splicing, and labeling
  • Experience handling and/or working with ESD-sensitive hardware/equipment
  • Experience utilizing lab test equipment, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization software and solutions (VMware)
  • Experience with Storage and Backup solutions
  • Self-motivation, taking initiative with minimal instruction
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting in a clear and concise manner
  • System Administration Knowledge of Windows platforms


Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard .

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
