As a Cloud Operations Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the operations of our cloud-based products in AWS. Working closely with Client Infrastructure Services, Production Engineering and R&D teams, the Cloud Operations Administrator will be expected to support and maintain operational best practices to deploy and implement hosted PACs systems and all Integrated Cloud offering to our clients. You will support effective deployment, monitoring, reporting, security, and life-cycle management solutions services through our hosted environments.

This person can reside in any domestic U.S. location, work remotely from home, or hybrid if situated near a Collins Aerospace location.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist all support teams and services with cloud questions, systems design, problem resolution, etc.
  • Support security-related aspects of the infrastructure, including compliance and other standards relevant to RTX policies.
  • Work with Cloud Architects and Cloud engineers to support and maintain the cloud (AWS) infrastructure.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for cloud solutions.
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation and orchestration.
  • Lead Disaster Recovery program for Cloud Operations.
  • Maintain automated monitoring and reporting of cloud infrastructure health, performance, and cost control.
  • Work with Stakeholders from the business, helping identify requirements and act as a consultant for their Cloud Operation's needs.
  • Work with Tier 1 Cloud Op's support team in day-to-day support operations, mentoring the Tier 1 team and providing technical guidance.
  • Support of high priority, revenue generating applications with very high support expectations.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT experience within a medium to large sized business (OS, network operations, and monitoring).
  • A minimum of 5 relevant years of experience in Windows Server Administration
  • A minimum of 2 relevant years of experience in Cloud Administration.
  • Knowledge of PaaS and SaaS Cloud methodologies.
  • Broad experience with and knowledge of Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux / CentOS;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking.
  • Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, PowerShell and Splunk
  • AWS Certification, such as AWS SysOps Engineer or AWS DevOps Engineer, is a major asset.
  • Knowledge of containers, orchestration tools, and container management is an asset.
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some minimal travel may be required
