Alcon is looking to hire a Global Director of Technology and Systems (CAS) within the Global Cataract team, based in Fort Worth, TX. This role is a senior clinical applications leader who directs a multi-functional department that delivers innovative clinical solutions and execution through consultation and the development of strategies, tools and training resources to safely and effectively use Alcon advanced technologies to improve patient outcomes.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and lead curriculum, content and execution plan development for internal and external stakeholders globally through leadership of Alcon's Global Clinical Application Refractive and Cataract training organization, providing a foundation of continuous improvement to assist in supporting clinical training to surgeons and CASs on Alcon equipment
  • Ensure that developmental efforts are aligned with the Surgical Franchise strategy in an effort to enhance customer experiences with Alcon's advanced technologies (WaveLight, LenSx, Verion and ORA) and future product releases.
  • Develop and support new training and remote processes to align with the Global Services strategy to enhance CAS & HCP training and customer experience.
  • Develop the Surgical Regional Training organizations in an effort to secure global standards with the objective of achieving high performing proficiency levels in the technical product and skills areas.
  • Drive the implementation of the internal and external plan across all Alcon regions, which includes recommended budget and resources to execute initiatives at the local level
  • Own role as primary Clinical Application Training interface with Surgical Franchise Head and Regional Surgical Franchise Heads and Training Directors.
  • Ensure a prescriptive, on-boarding and training plan is developed and executed for all internal stakeholders in reporting function (clinical application specialists, field service engineers, medical science liaisons and sales representatives) ensuring a high level of quality control.
  • Align initiatives to standardize development planning and career pathways within the globalized Alcon CAS organization.
  • Implement two-way communication channels to collect feedback and concerns.
  • Oversee the Alcon Experience Academy for all external training delivery and documentation. This includes system updates as necessary to ensure the best user experience (internal and external).
  • Oversee all CAS R&D activities ensuring focus on enhanced trainability and supportability.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 20% domestic or international
  • Relocation assistance: Yes
  • Sponsorship available: Yes



Preferred Experience:

  • Advanced degree e.g., MBA
  • Minimum: 8 years of related experiences and 3 years of demonstrated leadership.
  • International/multi-cultural global experience
  • Strategically to create framework and content but also possess abilities to tactically execute
  • Proven capability and experience in creating training programs
  • Ability to effectively achieve results across multiple geographies and all levels of management
