Responsibilities

  • Performs electrocardiograms (ECG), single average electrocardiograms (SAECG) and other types of ECGs on adults, children, and infants.
  • Utilizes the ECG computer system to edit Cardiologist's ECG overeads and to retrieve and distribute ECG reports.
  • Applies and removes Holter monitors and apnea monitors from selected patients.
  • Utilizes the Mercy H.I.S. for all functions listed on the Tech Services Department Master Screen.
  • Accurately performs copying, filing, and typing functions.
  • Answers phones, documents, and routes messages.
  • Retrieves test results and routines them to a variety of departments and offices.
  • Cardiac Stress Testing skill set.
  • Holter Monitor Scanning skill set.
  • Esophageal pH Monitoring skill set.
  • Transports patients via wheelchair or cart.
  • Maintains ECG and office supply inventory.
  • Accurately resolves ECG and office equipment problems.
  • Performs MUSE system troubleshooting and database maintenance procedures.
  • Sorts and delivers department mail.
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized work environment.
  • Assists with Outpatient and Inpatient test scheduling as needed.
  • Phlebotomy Skill Set

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to type 15 words per minute.
  • Completion of Introductory ECG Anatomy and Physiology and Arrhythmia Recognition Class*
  • Completion of basic Medical Terminology class.*
  • Completion of ECG training program. *
  • Current BCLS certification or take BCLS class within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be completed by the end of probationary period.
