What You Will Do

• Configure and administer Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and applications to meet the organizations requirements
• Assist and support the deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in the AWS cloud by working directly with the stakeholders
• Develop, implement, and maintain software automation and scripts to orchestrate AWS cloud and virtualization technologies with defined scope, schedule, and expectations
• View and analyze summary data on AWS cloud resource deployment and take appropriate action
• Monitor requests and key metrics for AWS cloud resources, as well as the performance of systems in the cloud and perform remediation
• Identify, manage, and resolve AWS cloud computing security risks and implement best practices as applied within a cloud environment
• Provide subject matter expert technical support to customers using AWS products, solutions, and APIs
• Identify and document product bugs and feature requests and work with internal support teams, external providers, as well as customers to implement effective solutions

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Proficient understanding of the AWS platform
• Proficient understanding of Unix and Python
• Proficient understanding with scripting languages, and software and infrastructure automation skills
• Show initiative on assignments, and professionally execute projects with very little direction
• Fully proficient ability to handle significant responsibility and accountability while executing complex assignments
• Effective communication skills written and verbal
• Able to accept integrate constructive feedback
• Proficient ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of individuals

Requirements

• Experience creating templates with CloudFormation, and similar technologies
• Experience supporting applications in AWS at an enterprise-level working with EC2, S3, RDS, EBS Volumes, ELB and Security Groups
• 7+ years of Network Engineering experience
• 3+ years of Cloud Service experience
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience
• Experience with network and/or system administration in Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments
• Experience with Agile and DevOps or DevSecOps model
• Experience with server scripting and modern deployment and configuration management techniques and tools (Ansible, Ops Works, etc.)
• Experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
• Hybrid Cloud Architecture experience
• AWS Certifications (Professional Level - Architect or Developer)
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computing Engineering; additional experience / certifications may be considered in place of education
• Preferred: Experience supporting government customers

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience on systems with complex requirements
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
• Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus

THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is PARTIAL REMOTE 2 DAYS A WEEK. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL REMOTE SCHEDULE.
