We have an immediate opening for an Application Support Specialist. They will be involved in performing and coordinating level one troubleshooting of internally developed software applications for internal and external users via email or self-service helpdesk portal. Duties include:

  • Troubleshooting and documenting errors in a timely manner using an incident tracking system to communicate software defects on Company rating, issuance, billing, information service and other software applications
  • Identifies potentially wide-spread or urgent software-related matters and communicates this information to the appropriate teams or managers
  • Communicating with technical and non-technical team members and leaders to determine root cause of software errors
  • Recommends software work-arounds where appropriate
  • Gaining an understanding and working knowledge of Company applications in order to help provide problem resolution and/or prepare user stories for software Agile teams for higher level problem resolution.
  • Maintain documentation and service catalog for software applications and processes
  • Follow-up with users


What We Require:

  • 1-2 years related work experience
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, MIS, Computer Science, or related field
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft products and Windows applications
  • Occasional ability to work outside normal business hours


What We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology (i.e, sprint cycles, story boards, writing user stories, etc.)
  • Basic insurance terms and coverages knowledge
  • Business analysis experience
  • Knowledge of commercial automobile rating and policy coverages and endorsements
  • Insurance coverages and rating and insurance products
  • Principles of finance, business, statistics, and insurance
