Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational efficiency of new business and money collection processes.

  • Define, manage, and continuously improve servicing models for Intermediaries within new business operations.

  • Manage internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to new business and business support.

  • Ensure alignment of operational processes with regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Draft, review, and update new business standards annually to meet evolving business needs.

  • Conduct audits to assess adherence to established new business standards.

  • Design and advise on training modules for both new and existing Administrators and payroll consultants.

  • Coordinate and ensure execution of annual advice refresher training sessions.

  • Perform monthly audits and provide reports on advisory practices and findings.

  • Conduct monthly performance reviews for direct reports, fostering accountability and growth.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Risk, Compliance, and Legal departments.

  • Evaluate and mitigate the impact of new and existing legislation and regulations on products and processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of Advisor subsistence and travel allowance payments.

  • Identify and report risk events, maintaining an up-to-date risk log in collaboration with the Operations Manager.

  • Research fraud trends and emerging risks; contribute to the development of fraud prevention strategies, policies, and systems.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to direct reports, promoting a high-performance culture.

  • Ensure effective and compliant record-keeping of client documentation.

Minimum requirement

  • Namibian Citizen.

  • Relevant Degree in Finance/Commerce, BCom/ Honours in Business Administration or a relevant tertiary qualification.

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry.

  • Sound business knowledge and management experience advantageous.

  • Strong technical & numerical skills and ability to think analytically, laterally & systematically.

  • The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service levels.

  • Ability to guide, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure overall operational and strategic goals are met.

  • Must be able to plan, organize and execute tasks at an operational and strategic level.

  • Must have excellent operational and strategic skills in insurance product offerings.

  • Must be a team player and able to work independently without senior supervision; and

  • Ability to work well under consistent pressure.
