Operations Support Specialist

This position requires an active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance.

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.  You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

Cherokee Preting is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to support our Northern Virginia Client with administrative, human resources, digital presentations, facilitating communications and project management focused tasks. 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Operations Support Specialist: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.  Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Operations Support Specialist Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist office with digitizing processes that include Bluescape, Skype, and other digital tools. 
  • Improve day-to-day workflows by identifying bottlenecks, standardizing procedures, and implementing changes that increase efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
  • Provide administrative support and manage data by maintaining accurate records, tracking actions and deadlines, compiling reports, and ensuring files and databases are current and compliant.
  • Coordinate across teams and stakeholders by managing calendars and meetings, sharing timely updates, documenting decisions, and following up to keep tasks on track and aligned with priorities.
  • Conduct interviews and document observations related to program initiatives and capture results and action items digitally for senior leaders. 
  • Develop strategy for operational programs and training pipeline support. 
  • Assist with devising standards, documenting progress and collecting/presenting feedback.
  • Assist with streamlining communications and interactions with mid-level manager to senior leadership in the front office. 
  • Prepare executive leadership communications that accurately reflect programs, statuses, and progress.
  • Assist with summits, conferences, and off-site meetings for large audiences to include preparing equipment. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

 

Operations Support Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Must have at least ten (10) years of work experience.  
  • Must have at least seven (7) or more years of experience in strategy development and/or workflow optimization. 
  • Have at least a Bachelor’s degree, three (3) years of additional experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. 
  • Strong proficiency with office productivity tools (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace) and hands-on experience using industry databases, CRM platforms, and/or workforce management systems.

  • Experience with digital tools such as, but not limited to: Bluescape and Skype
  • Must be willing to obtain necessary certifications for digital tools upon employment. 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability, strong organizational and time-management skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Preferred to have experience supporting the Client. 
  • Preferred experience with special forces, paramilitary, Navy or Marines. 
  • Work independently with limited oversight. 
  • Demonstrated experience in both written and verbal communications. 
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership and onsite personnel. 
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
