Step into a leadership role where your operational expertise will make a measurable impact. PPG Aerospace is seeking a driven and hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead our warehouse team at the Chemical Management Services (CMS) Division in Mount Laurel, NJ. In this key role, you’ll oversee material handlers, shipping and receiving staff, and drivers—ensuring smooth, efficient operations while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the CMS Regional Manager, you'll be at the forefront of day-to-day logistics and long-term process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for offsite teams regarding outbound and urgent shipments
Lead and coordinate site projects to drive operational effectiveness
Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies in system locations
Oversee cycle counts and support annual physical inventory activities
Manage handling and disposition of scrap and expired materials
Supervise relationships with external vendors including leased trucks and uniform providers
Develop and manage work schedules to optimize staffing and productivity
Foster skill development and implement leader standard work across the team
Knowledge of Lean continuous improvement practices and Six Sigma methodologies
Collaborate with Lean leaders to drive process improvements, lead Kaizen events, and maintain 5S standards
Promote a culture of operational excellence through daily engagement and collaboration
Champion Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards to ensure a safe and compliant workplace
Drive team accountability and continuous improvement through clear communication and coaching
Qualifications
Requires at least four (4) years of supervisory experience in operations
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree is required
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Etc.) for day-to-day operations and reporting
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000 Depending on experience plus performance bonus
