Description
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive LTL Operations Specialist to join our logistics team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for carriers and provide essential support in managing the daily movement of Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight. You’ll help ensure timely pick-ups, deliveries, and high-quality service while strengthening carrier relationships and maintaining operational accuracy.
Requirements
- Enter and maintain customer profiles and shipment details in McLeod TMS
- Schedule and coordinate LTL pick-ups and deliveries with carriers and customers
- Track in-transit shipments and provide real-time updates
- Solicit and evaluate freight quotations for both spot and contract rates
- Manage carrier data, negotiate rates, and maintain capacity relationships
- Dispatch drivers in accordance with established procedures and customer expectations
- Monitor shipment status and update systems to ensure accurate records from origin to delivery
- Collaborate daily with the operations team to align on service execution
- Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous process improvements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics operations, with emphasis on LTL freight
- Experience using McLeod software is strongly preferred
- Experience using DAT to source and book carriers
- Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general TMS usage
- Bonus: Familiarity with port or drayage operations is a plus
