The Role

The Operations Manager has a key leadership role responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing AT-RISK Operations across various areas, including Executive Protection, Threat Assessment, Investigations, Training, Security Consultation, Risk Mitigation and Assessment, and overall client-driven operational requirements. This position ensures the efficient delivery of complex security services while maintaining strong client relationships. The Operations Manager will oversee both on-site and remote security operations and serve as a trusted point of contact for managing sensitive security tasks across a range of environments.

This position requires multiple professional skills, including familiarization with security system concepts and technical applications, behavioral-based threat assessment and management, security program management, close protective operations, public safety liaison, intelligence collection, and protection and travel coordination. The Operations Manager should have a transformational mindset and be an advocate for change and innovation.

Salary for this position is $115,000-$120,000.

Duties:

Operations and Management:

Security & Risk Mitigation: Lead and support critical operations related to executive protection, risk assessments, investigations, and security consultations to mitigate client risks.

Client Relations: Maintain regular liaison with clients, their security teams, and local officials to address security concerns and enhance operational effectiveness.

Task Management: Oversee the execution of complex projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services while meeting client requirements.

Intelligence Integration: Incorporate intelligence findings into operational strategies and recommendations, ensuring comprehensive threat assessments.

Program Oversight: Manage complex security programs, which may include a combination of protective operations, investigative tasks, and consulting activities, ensuring high-quality service delivery in each program.

Operational Planning: Coordinate staffing and coordination for protective operations and oversee real-time monitoring and provide on-call management of protective assignments.

Security Assessments: Conduct security surveys and provide tailored advice on operational, technical, and administrative security measures.

Investigative Program Duties:

Lead and oversee case investigations, ensuring thorough research and timely report submissions.

Manage case files, oversee data entry, and ensure compliance with company processes.

Ensure timely submission of expenses for billing and payroll purposes.

Protective Program Duties:

Plan, execute, and oversee protective operations, including travel coordination and staffing requests.

Maintain oversight of protective operations, monitoring real-time progress and adjusting strategies as needed.

Interact with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve any operational concerns.

Remain as the liaison between the client and protective detail, highlighting the ability to react to and mitigate unforeseen changes in security procedures.

Consulting Program Duties:

Exhibit security expertise in consultations with clients, including operational and technical guidance.

Deliver bespoke security training programs to both internal and external clients.

Communication & Client Support:

Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with clients, internal teams, and external partners.

Collaborate with stakeholders to assess operational effectiveness, share lessons learned, and explore new opportunities for growth and innovation in AT-RISK operations.

Administrative Duties:

Ensure all operational activities align with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate records, case files, and documentation related to security tasks, investigations, and client engagements.

Use investigative case management systems and utilize templates to track progress and report on activities.

Attend industry-related events to stay up to date on best practices and trends in security, threat assessment, and investigations.

Safeguard sensitive and confidential information, ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong ability to assess risks, identify security gaps, and make well-informed recommendations.

Leadership & Supervision: Proven experience in leading teams, providing coaching, and managing security personnel effectively.

Coaching & Mentorship: Conduct training sessions for both internal team members and external clients. Provide ongoing guidance and mentoring on company systems, processes, and security best practices.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present to clients and engage with internal teams and external partners professionally.

Security Operations Experience: Background in personal protection details, advance planning, and managing security coordination for high-profile individuals.

Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.

Ethical Judgment: A commitment to the highest level of ethical standards in all aspects of operations and decision-making.

Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills for case management, report writing, and data analysis.

Client-Focused: Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring their needs are met with excellence.

Experience Requirements:

The suitable candidate must possess the requisite experience of at least ten years in security, law enforcement, military, and/or investigations.

A bachelor’s degree is desired but does not count for practical experience.

LEOSA / HR 218, DCJS Certification desired.

Strong Corporate Security experience is HIGHLY desired.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience in corporate security management, including high-risk operational environments.

Familiarity with intelligence collection and threat mitigation strategies.

Experience in the security consultation field, including training and advising clients on security best practices.
