Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily farm operations across all crop production cycles, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, and harvesting.
- Ensure optimal utilization of inputs, labor, and equipment while promoting sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices.
- Lead the development and maintenance of farm infrastructure, including irrigation systems, solar-powered energy solutions, and farm machinery.
- Supervise and mentor farm supervisors, field officers, and youth agripreneurs; manage workforce planning, attendance, and performance.
- Integrate farm operations with the AgriFAAS Connect platform by ensuring accurate data collection on yields, inputs, labor, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance platform functionality and usability in real-world field conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with traditional leaders, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
- Facilitate farmer onboarding, cooperative engagement, and representation at local partnership forums.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as yield per acre, cost efficiency, and labor productivity.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly operational reports and ensure adherence to project timelines and compliance standards.
- Enforce health, safety, environmental, and sustainability protocols across all farm activities.
- Promote responsible use of agro-inputs and best practices in land stewardship.
Skills Required
- Experience overseeing daily farm operations including land preparation, planting, irrigation, and harvesting
- Knowledge and application of sustainable and climate-smart farming practices
- Experience with irrigation systems, solar-powered energy solutions, and farm machinery maintenance/management
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and managing performance of farm supervisors, field officers, and youth agripreneurs
- Ability to collect, manage, and report operational data (yields, inputs, labor, KPIs) via AgriFAAS Connect
- Ability to prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly operational reports and ensure project timeline compliance
- Experience building relationships with local leaders, authorities, and community stakeholders
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and sustainability protocols and enforcement
