Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)

To lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations, with direct responsibility for the performance, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Production and Maintenance Departments. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and timely manufacturing of high-quality products in a safe and secure facility. The Operations Manager drives operational excellence, fosters a culture of accountability and safety, and safeguards the integrity of sensitive business information while supporting the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
•    Oversee all production and maintenance operations to ensure timely, efficient, high-quality, and safe output.
•    Supervise the production of products and the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
•    Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, environmental standards, and fair employment practices.
•    Manage the maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, and overall condition of buildings, equipment, and physical grounds.
•    Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate staff; take corrective action when necessary in alignment with company policy and in coordination with HR.
•    Communicate clear performance expectations to staff and promote accountability, productivity, and engagement.
•    Serve as Safety Manager by conducting accident investigations and leading the safety team.
•    Collaborate with the Quality Manager to resolve customer complaints and implement process improvements to prevent recurrence.
•    Provide emergency response support during off-hours as needed, including equipment repair and damage control.

Essential Functions (Essential/secondary functions that support the primary responsibilities)

-    Prepare reports that summarize and forecast production and maintenance activities and performance metrics.
-    Advise leadership on operational adjustments based on changing conditions, machine availability, and workforce capacity.
-    Assist the GM in preparing and delivering departmental updates for management meetings.
-    Support special projects or initiatives as assigned by the GM, providing timely and accurate information or analysis.

Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
•    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field required
•    (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
•    7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or plant leadership role
•    Experience in box manufacturing, folding carton, printing, or packaging industries strongly preferred
•    Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, production schedules, and continuous improvement initiatives
•    Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and safety and compliance standards in a plant or industrial environment

Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Demonstrated leadership ability with strong problem-solving, organizational, and team-building skills
•    Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
•    Experience in box manufacturing or the folding carton industry preferred; printing, packaging, and general manufacturing experience a plus
•    Strong ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work while managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines
•    Proven ability to delegate effectively and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment
•    High attention to detail with solid mathematical and analytical skills
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization
•    Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate technical data relevant to production and maintenance operations
•    In-depth knowledge of operations management, including both theoretical principles and practical application across manufacturing functions
 

The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.  In addition to our compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including the following:
