Become a D-Fender! Work with the world’s leading cyber-takeover counter-drone technology provider and shape the future of safe airspace.

Core responsibilities:

    Inventory policy, valuation & reserves

    • Continuously validate the inventory policy: valuation method, capitalization rules, purchasing policy and COGS purchasing monitoring, reserves for excess & obsolete (E&O) and slow-moving stock.
    • Calculate, forecast, and manage inventory reserves and releases; ensure inventory on the balance sheet is complete, accurate, and defensible.
    • Review and evaluate safety-stock, min/max, and reorder parameters set by supply chain to assess financial risk, CF impact and potential exposure.

    • Costing sanity, yields & product-cost integrity

    • Validate standard costs, BOMs, and routings; own the periodic cost roll and challenge unexplained cost movements.
    • Lead budgeting and monitoring of production yields and other direct-cost elements; analyze yield performance and manage the associated financial reserves and forecasts.
    • Analyze purchase price variance (PPV), manufacturing variances, and material usage; investigate anomalies to root cause.
    • Provide clear gross-margin, COGS, and product-cost analysis to finance and operations leadership.

    • Inventory accuracy & operational audits

    • Govern and oversee the cycle-count and physical-inventory programs executed by operations team; drive Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) to and beyond target.
    • Perform financial control and audit sampling during physical counts to ensure inventory process integrity.
    • Reconcile physical count with, ERP, and financial records; investigate, resolve discrepancies and approve inventory adjustments.
    • Run recurring financial-operational reviews across procurement, production, warehouse, and shipping; tests that documented policies match actual practice, and drive findings to closure.
    • Financial control, PO/liability monitoring & close

    • Ensure the accuracy of the balance sheet through rigorous accounting reconciliations of inventory, reserves, and operational accruals.
    • Support the monthly close, audit, and compliance for the operational areas of the books.
    • Monitor open purchase orders (POs) and open liabilities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
    • Business partnering & flagging

    • Reporting to Director of Finance
    • Work side by side with VP Operations and their team - close enough to understand the operation, independent enough to call out what isn't right.
    • Raise discrepancies, risks, and control weaknesses proactively and constructively, with a recommended path to resolution.
    • Support operational decisions (make/buy, supplier changes, process changes) with sound costs and financial analysis.

    • Process improvement

    • Identify and implement process and automation improvements across the inventory, costing, and control functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Economics, Industrial Engineering & Management, or Finance. CPA an advantage.
  • 5+ years in cost accounting / operational finance within a manufacturing or hardware company (electronics, Defense, industrial, or similar).
  • Demonstrated, hands-on expertise in standard costing, inventory valuation, reserves, and variance analysis -not just financial reporting.
  • Practical experience running or supporting cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations, and closing the operational areas of the books.
  • Strong ERP fluency (e.g. Priority, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced Excel; comfort with BI tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Fluent English and Hebrew.
