The Role

We are seeking an Operations Assistant  to join IQVIA Laboratories in Livingston, UK.

The successful candidate will be a high school graduate responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with receipt, storage and shipment of clinical specimens and maintenance of lab equipment.

What you’ll be doing (Duties may include but are not limited to the following):

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the lab.
  • Responsible for assisting with receipt of consignments and opening of shipments.
  • Maintain stock on shelves and record all stock movements and issues using the inventory control system.
  • Assemble test kits with specimen collection materials as per protocol.
  • Responsible for correct disposal and/or recycling of kit shipping supplies.
  • Assist in routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Responsible for tube labelling and preparation.
  • Assist with supply inventory functions and general clean up of workstations.
  • Prepare and sterilize laboratory supplies, equipment and other materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas including disinfecting workbenches, materials, equipment and other laboratory areas.

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Min 6 months of customer service, admin or relevant experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Flexibility for working in shift patterns, which may include weekends and / or evenings. Shift options include: Day shift: 6 am to 2 pm, Backshift: 2 pm to 10 pm, 4-day work week with Wednesdays off, Tuesday to Friday with a Saturday shift.
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
  • Proactive and customer-oriented approach.
