Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

The Nurse Manager will maintain accountability for all patient care & nursing activities in SMH operating room. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resources management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among disciplines and with other departments. Oversees all quality improvement activities within the operating room and participates on committees within the institution as requested. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of perioperative experience, BSN and NYS license plus 5 years leadership experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Master's degree in nursing administration, or related fields preferred, required within 5 years.
