expanding with a brand-new, state-of-the-art Baytown campus, designed from the
ground up for modern, patient-centered surgical care. We are seeking an
exceptional Operating Room Manager to help build, lead, and inspire a perioperative
team that will set the standard for surgical excellence in the Bay Area–Houston
region.
About the Role
The OR Manager will be the
strategic and operational leader for our perioperative services at the Baytown
campus, overseeing day-to-day operations of the operating rooms and procedural
areas while shaping culture, quality, and service from day one. This leader
will partner closely with surgeons, anesthesia, sterile processing, and
ancillary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and highly reliable care for every
patient, every time.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the OR nursing team, including RNs,
surgical techs, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability,
respect, and professional growth.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily OR operations,
including room turnover, case flow, on-time starts, and throughput across
all surgical specialties served at the Baytown campus.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital
leadership to align scheduling, staffing, and resource utilization with
surgical volume and patient acuity.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, infection
prevention, safety, and quality standards, and lead initiatives that
improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the OR operating budget,
including labor, supplies, implants, and capital needs, while maintaining
high standards of care.
- Oversee staff scheduling, call rotations,
timekeeping, and productivity, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage
for all shifts.
- Maintain clinical competency and provide visible,
hands-on leadership in the OR, including stepping in to support care
delivery when needed.
- Drive performance improvement through data, metrics,
and evidence-based practices, using dashboards and reports to guide
decision-making.
- Champion a patient- and family-centered approach to
care that reflects the cultural and ethnic diversity of the Baytown
community.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of
Texas (or eligibility to obtain).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, Master’s
degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent acute care OR experience
with progressive leadership responsibilities (charge nurse, supervisor,
coordinator, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated expertise in perioperative nursing,
including knowledge of AORN standards, surgical safety checklists, and
infection prevention best practices.
- Proven ability to lead teams through change, build
engagement, and coach for performance in a complex, fast-paced
environment.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and
relationship-building skills with physicians, staff, and executive
leadership.
- BLS and ACLS (or obtained within organization-defined
timeframe); specialty certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR)
strongly preferred.
