Position Summary
DarkStar Intelligence seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Open Source/Social Media Analyst to join our team. In this key role, you will monitor and analyze traditional and social media trends, assess online networking patterns, and provide actionable insights to enhance situational awareness for federal agency clients. The successful candidate will excel at synthesizing complex information into clear, comprehensive reports and contributing to the creation of targeted media and social networking analyses.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate online media and social networking trends to identify actionable insights.
• Develop, prepare, and disseminate analytical summary reports for federal clients.
• Contribute to the creation of specialized media and social networking reports tailored to client needs.
• Operate and maintain web-based applications and tools used for social media analysis.
• Stay informed of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the social media/networking domain.
• Participate in rotational shift work to ensure 24/7 operational coverage, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Intelligence Studies, or related disciplines).
• Proficiency with tools and resources for accessing and analyzing social networking data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to stay current with trends and developments in social media analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Educational or professional background in National or Homeland Security.
• At least one year of professional experience using social network tools and platforms.
• Experience working in government or military operations centers is a plus.
• Familiarity with information-sharing or processing environments. 

Salary Range
$52,000 - $54,000
This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary.
