BTI360 is a data discovery company, using AI/ML to transform proprietary data into actionable insights that directly support our customer's mission. We are seeking an experienced Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support application development efforts for national security missions within the Intelligence Community. This role serves as a critical bridge between mission users, OSINT tradecraft, and technical development teams building advanced data exploitation and analytic platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of OSINT as practiced within the IC — including foreign information environments, data sources, collection tradecraft, and analytic workflows — and can translate mission needs into actionable guidance for software design, data ingestion, and analytic tool development.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a mission SME supporting software teams building OSINT exploitation platforms, analytic tools, and mission applications for IC customers.
- Advise developers on OSINT collection methods, data sources, source reliability, and tradecraft standards applicable in national security missions.
- Validate system design decisions against real-world analytic workflows, ensuring tools align with user needs, mission priorities, and IC tradecraft.
- Identify, characterize, and prioritize open-source data sources (foreign media, social media, foreign language platforms, academic, technical, commercial).
- Provide input on data ingestion, entity extraction, knowledge graph design, and analytic automation aligned with OSINT mission workflows.
- Support user story development, feature prioritization, and system testing with an emphasis on mission utility.
- Collaborate with IC analysts, collection managers, and operational users to capture functional requirements and translate them to technical teams.
You might thrive in this role if you have the following skills:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- 10+ years of OSINT experience supporting IC, DoD, or national security missions.
- Strong understanding of IC OSINT tradecraft, foreign information environments, and PAI exploitation in classified environments.
- Experience collaborating with technical teams building analytic platforms, big data systems, or decision support tools.
- Ability to translate mission needs into technical requirements and feature designs.
- Familiarity with structured analytic techniques, intelligence production processes, and IC analytic standards.
You may excel in this role if you have also these skills:
- Experience with entity resolution, data fusion, or knowledge graph design.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in OSINT exploitation.
- Experience with software development lifecycle, Agile development, and mission/user engagement practices.
- Regional expertise, foreign language proficiency, or deep domain knowledge of foreign media landscapes.
