Supports the Marine Operations Manager with safe maritime operations at an oil refinery import/export terminal. Coordinates vessel calls at Sitra Wharf, assists with ship handling and marine activities, and supports maintenance planning and operational coordination with Plant Maintenance, Marine Engineering, management, and external bodies. The role requires maritime industry experience and a Class III Certificate of Competency authorizing service on vessels of 5,000 GRT or above.

17 marine craft are operated and maintained ranging from shallow draft oil spill response vessels, Diesel bunker barges, through to life rafts and small berthing tugs / mooring vessels.
Marine Operations operates in a monopoly market for Diesel bunkering by barge within Bahrain, servicing the needs of customers, such as the US Navy 5th Fleet.
Operational activities are initiated through vessel nominations from International Marketing and are governed by the Agreed Cargo Plan, issued by Marine Accounting, which are linked to the refinery's Definitive Operating Plan (DOP).
Maintenance work is prioritised and planned according to budget constraints, through regular daily communication and scheduled meetings held with Plant Maintenance, Marine Engineering and Management.
Responsibilities
The candidate must have experience in maritime industry to enable him providing sound and professional assistance to Manager Marnie Operations, he will be required to perform variety of tasks related to marine industry and handling of ships calling at Sitra Wharf.
QualificationsThe candidate must be holding minimum Class-III, Certificate of Competency in maritime (COC) with capacity of 5000 GRT and above, obtained from a reputable university.
