About the Role
We are hiring an Office Engineer to support an active NJDOT roadway widening and major drainage project on Route 40 in Atlantic County. This is a time-sensitive, boots-on-the-ground assignment with an immediate start. The Office Engineer keeps the documentation, compliance, and reporting side of the project running clean so the job stays on schedule and on the books.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project documentation, records, and daily reporting for the Route 40 assignment
- Track quantities, materials, and pay items, and maintain compliance with NJDOT standards
- Work directly in NJDOT Site Manager to log and manage project data
- Coordinate with the field inspection team, contractors, and the project manager to keep the job moving
- Support inspection and compliance across the roadway widening and drainage scope
- Keep the project audit-ready from start to finish
Requirements
- Active NICET Level 3 certification, OR 7+ years of relevant construction inspection and office engineering experience if you do not hold the certification
- Hands-on experience with NJDOT infrastructure projects
- Fluency in NJDOT Site Manager (strongly preferred)
- Experience on roadway, widening, and drainage projects
- Ability to be on-site in Atlantic County daily for the duration of the assignment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up
Skills Required
- Active NICET Level 3 certification
- 7+ years relevant construction inspection and office engineering experience (alternate to NICET Level 3)
- Hands-on experience with NJDOT infrastructure projects
- Fluency in NJDOT Site Manager
- Experience on roadway widening and drainage projects
- Ability to be on-site in Atlantic County daily for the duration of the assignment
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to start immediately with minimal ramp-up
