Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nutanix Architect to manage virtualization platforms, servers, storage, and networking systems. The role involves maintaining infrastructure, providing end-user support, implementing disaster recovery plans, and automating routine tasks while ensuring system reliability, performance, and security across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Virtualization & Hypervisors: Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments, including VMware Cloud Foundation, ESXi, and vSphere Hypervisor. Administer and support Nutanix clusters as a specialist.
• Server & Storage Management: Administer Windows Server/Desktop systems, manage users, file systems, software, services, and RAID storage configurations.
• Active Directory & Security: Handle Active Directory administration, domain and GPO backup/recovery, and apply security best practices including ACLs and encryption.
• Networking & Troubleshooting: Support fundamental networking concepts and troubleshoot DHCP, DNS, routing, and firewall issues.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and modify scripts in PowerShell, Bash, KSH, Perl, and SQL to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• System Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system health and performance, identify bottlenecks, provide statistics, and lead optimization efforts.
• Disaster Recovery & Backup: Plan and execute backup and restore processes for systems, applications, and data.
• Patch & Firmware Management: Manage installation of system patches and firmware updates.
• End-User Support: Provide strong customer service with hands-on support to workstations, servers, and IT systems.
• Documentation & Compliance: Produce technical documentation for solutions, system designs, and operational procedures.
• Operational & Physical Duties: Lift and transport server equipment as required, provide off-hour and on-call support, and travel to various locations to support IT infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

• Virtualization Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, VMware Cloud Foundation, Nutanix administration, and cluster management.
• IT Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in Windows Server/Desktop administration, RAID storage, Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and security principles.
• Scripting & Automation: Experience writing, modifying, and implementing scripts for automation and SQL queries.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Skilled in monitoring system health, identifying bottlenecks, and performing system optimization.
• Disaster Recovery & Patching: Knowledge of backup/restore procedures and patch/firmware management for virtualized environments.
• Soft Skills: Strong customer service focus, excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, good judgment, and integrity.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (preferred) with a minimum of 8 years of IT support experience. Knowledge of Darksite patching for Nutanix Hypervisor and other hypervisors is required.
• Operational Flexibility: Ability to lift/transport server equipment, travel to multiple sites, provide on-call support, and work overtime as needed.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting enterprise-level virtualization and multi-site IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with advanced automation and monitoring tools for IT infrastructure.
