The Role
- Plant knowledge and passion to help customers with their garden or landscaping needs,
- Customer-service driven and a critical eye to notice when customers need assistance or merchandise needs attention.
- Creativity to display plants and garden accessories to demonstrate design ideas,
- Care with tending to our lush plants, shrubs, trees and
- Complete Cashier, Sales Associate and Department Head duties as necessary.
- Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise (as arranged by management).
- Maintain your assigned department: Keep clean, organized and fully stocked.
- Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals/priorities assigned to you and move with your “Ace Pace”.
- Remove promotional bin tags from displays/price tags as required.
- Restock merchandise displays as needed, watch end caps and side wings.
- Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
- Never tell a customer no without checking with a manager.
- Watch for shoplifters and act, in line with Elder’s policy, that will discourage shoplifting.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Respond to radio requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience, gardens experience preferred.
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
- Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
- Availability must be flexible, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a high attention to detail.
- Available to work some evenings and weekends.
- Physical requirements: work outside in summer/winter temperatures, standing or walking during shift, lifting up to 50lbs, bending, pushing/pulling, etc.
