ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

Lead with Purpose as our Nurse Unit Manager (NUM)- Orthopaedic – Permanent Full Time

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and inspiring Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) on a permanent full-time basis at our East Melbourne campus.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, driving excellence in patient care while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. You will lead and mentor a dedicated nursing team, champion continuous improvement, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

ABOUT YOU:

You are an experienced and inspiring nursing leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the growth and development of your team. You lead by example, communicate with confidence, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Unit Manager, or in a similar senior nursing leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing nursing teams while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge with a strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sound operational, workforce and resource management skills, including experience managing budgets, staffing and service delivery.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and achieving outstanding patient and staff outcomes.
  • A genuine passion for living St Vincent's values and delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

We work together to ensure patient safety, well-being and recovery. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

REQUIREMENTS:
Criminal record and/or child protection checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
SVPHM has a duty of care under work health and safety legislation to eliminate and/or control the risk of transmission of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) in healthcare settings.
