To assist the professional nurse and other nursing personnel in the completion of patient care tasks and providing patient care needs that is consistent with the laws governing nursing within the State of Texas and within the Scope of education training held by the individual nurse technician. Assures that all tasks and services provided are carried out in accordance with acceptable standards of nursing practice and the hospital’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Currently enrolled in an accredited professional nursing program, or are on semester breaks from such programs.
- Graduate nurse from another state awaiting permit or licensure in Texas.
- Registered nurse who has recently failed to renew licensure and is awaiting relicensure.
- Failure of state board examination by a GN results in immediate demotion to a Nurse Technician. May be promoted to professional nurse only upon becoming licensed as a Professional Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Upon third failure of state board examination, Nurse Technician status may be maintained if the employee is actively meeting requirement by the State Board.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Prior Work Experience Completion of at lease two semesters of current professional nurse training/education.
