This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Numerical Control (NC) Programmers with diverse skill sets that are responsible for creating, planning, verifying, revising, and documenting machine control data which controls the machines to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to programmers, operations teams, and senior leadership.
- Ensure process compliance with engineering requirements, Quality Assurance standards, and customer contract requirements.
- Lead the development of new processes and continuous improvement of existing operations.
- Facilitate Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to resolve technical production issues.
- Manage complex, competing production schedules and report status to senior management.
- Coach, mentor, and influence team members to drive high-performance results.
- Navigate difficult workplace situations and conflict to achieve productive outcomes.
- Execute tasks efficiently with little to no direct oversight.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in a leadership/management role.
- Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage demanding customers with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced challenging environment.
- Experience working with multiple cross-functional groups (e.g., Quality, Assembly, Fabrication, Supply Chain).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, delegate effectively, and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate risk and make timely decisions.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree in technical or engineering fields.
- 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or aircraft manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in NC programming, automation, assembly, and both composite and metallic fabrication.
- 3+ years of leadership or people management experience.

Summary Pay Range: $105,300 - 161,450
