About the role:
Lumenis is a global leader in energy-based solutions for Aesthetics and Eye Care. With more than 1000 employees worldwide and sales in over 100 countries, we are headquartered in Yokneam and have offices in Tel-Aviv.
We are looking for an NPI Engineer for the R&D team. The NPI Engineer will own the end-to-end transition of multidisciplinary medical devices from R&D prototypes to stable, scalable serial production, serving as the bridge between product development and Operations.
If you want to work in an innovative, international environment and help push the boundaries of healthcare, well-being, and energy-based technology, this is your opportunity!
Key responsibilities:
· Lead the full NPI and design-transfer process from R&D handoff through pilot builds, qualification, production ramp-up, and stabilization.
· Build and drive transfer plans, schedules, risk and action tracking, production-readiness criteria, and release gates.
· Create and maintain the manufacturing package, including BOM/DMR content, drawings, work instructions, test methods, acceptance criteria, tooling, and training materials.
· Lead DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews and drive design and process improvements that support quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
· Define, develop, and qualify manufacturing processes, fixtures, equipment, and test setups; prepare and execute validation protocols where applicable.
· Lead ECOs and configuration changes, and provide hands-on support for production, yield, quality, field, and obsolescence issues using structured root-cause and corrective-action methods.
· Serve as the technical focal point across R&D, Operations, QA/RA, Supply Chain, Service, suppliers, subcontractors, and contract manufacturers.
RequirementsRequirements:
· B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
· At least 3 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or design transfer for multidisciplinary products.
· Proven experience supporting pilot and serial production and developing or improving manufacturing processes.
· Experience with engineering documentation, BOM/DMR structures, ECO/CO processes, and PLM/PDM and ERP systems.
· Strong hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
· Fluent Hebrew and English, written and spoken; medical-device or other regulated-industry experience is an advantage.
